Feb 16, 2018 If you own a USB microphone, have you ever noticed the low volume in your recordings? Do you happen to hear complains from friends and family when you do skype calls? The USB audio driver on Windows 10 is the reason, and here's how to apply a temporary solution. When using a Blue Yeti (USB) or the built-in microphone on my g930 headset recorded volume is at an unacceptably low level. I have tried. Control Panel - Sound - Recording - Right Click on Device X and select Properties - Click on the Levels Tab - Increase Microphone volume to 100% but the sound is still not even close to loud enough.
Click Settings on Charm bar and go to Control Panel. What is open software updater.
Microphone Boost App
So I recently got a new headset. The Skullcandy SLYR.
My problem is that I can't find a way to boost the mic gain/boost. Usually with other headsets that use the Headphone&Mic Jacks or built in laptop mics there is an option in Windows for Microphone Boost. That option does not exist with USB Headsets. It uses a Generic USB Audio Driver.
It works fine when I test it in Steam and on Xbox 360. It is just too quiet on every other application I try to use it with, including Skype and Google+. I believe it would work if I could boost the Microphone.
Is there a driver for USB gaming headsets other than the Generic USB Audio that Windows Automatically installs?
and/or
Is there a utility or program that can boost the mic for other applications?
